I hope your day is rosy- #5 Uplifting things to start your week
Writing this from a heated bathroom floor cos Monday is saying THANK YOU NEXT.
If anyone needs me I’ll have a hot water bottle surgically attached to my stomach for the next five months - once the cold gets to my bones -that’s me done for - I’m essentially a small victorian child with a weak disposition but luckily not a weak out look on life.
The benefit to being this freezing was the discovery of a crumble pie? Has anyone else experienced this? Wandering through the farmers market of Queen’s Park I discovered a stall of magical baked goods and home of the crumble pie. It is both a crumble and a pie. A pie with crumble on top. I love humanity (occasionally).
This may be a shorter post today as I’m incredibly sleep deprived from looking after a cat with an anxious attachment disorder, I can only assume this from the seven times he woke me up last night head butting me demanding pets and snuggles. But he does let you hold his paw and give you actual hugs a round your neck- so I’ll allow it because he’s goddamn adorable and I’m a push over.
Anyway here are some uplifting things to carry you through this somewhat bleak November week (I’m already singing in the bleak mid winter on repeat).
Please enjoy this chonky squirrel that lives in my friend’s garden. The photo doesn’t quite do him justice for how large he actually is. I have named him Dave.
If this doesn’t make you smile I don’t know what will. I have nothing more for you. Sorry. This little girl and her dad dancing in the mirror every day is one of my favourite Tik Tok accounts because a) they’re amazing at it and b) the joy on their faces is infectious. That little girl is now my spirit animal.
CAT OF THE WEEK: Goes to this fella who tried to go to school with his little owner. I love the way he sticks his head out the back pack like ‘Woah- we here already??’
Something to take with you: If you spend most of the time worrying you’re a secretly terrible person and have fooled everyone around you that you’re a good person when you’re not: You’re likely a decent human being, as someone who was actually terrible wouldn’t spend a second out of their day to reflect upon this.
I’ll be back next week for a more thorough newsletter, but until them have a great week!
Rosy x
